2025 Travel Evaluation Details

NEW TRAVEL PLAYERS MUST COMPLETE THEIR REGISTRATION FOR THE 2025 TRAVEL SEASON BEFORE THEY ATTEND EVALUATIONS ON JUNE 1ST OR JUNE 7TH.

RETURNING TRAVEL PLAYERS MUST COMPLETE REGISTRATION BY JUNE 8, 2025.

Age Groups for Fall 2025

PAYSA travel teams start at the U9 age group and go through the U14 age group.  Age groups are determined by the players date of birth. Due to the difference between the cut off date for soccer (7/31) vs Portland schools (10/15), some players with birthdays between August 1st and September 14th may be moved up an age group so they can play with their classmates.

U10: 8/1/2015 – 7/31/2016
U11: 8/1/2014 – 7/31/2015
U12: 8/1/2013 – 7/31/2014
U13: 8/1/2012 – 7/31/2013
U14: 8/1/2011 – 7/31/2012

Travel Evaluation Schedule

Only NEW players are required to attend an evaluation.

Evaluations for all age groups will be held at Fitzpatrick Stadium on Deering Ave from 11:45am – 1:00pm on Sunday, June 1, 2025 and 3:30 – 5:00pm on Saturday, June 7, 2025.

What to Bring to Evaluations

Players should wear cleats, shin guards, and bring a soccer ball and a water bottle. If possible, players should bring a copy of their birth certificate to evaluations.

PAYSA typically fields as many teams per age group as the number of players and available coaches allow. Scores from evaluations will be used to assign players to teams. PAYSA creates balanced teams for U9, U10, U11, and U12 teams.  U13 and U14 teams are determined based on player skill and competition (Div1 and Div2 teams). Returning coaches reserve the right to consider past performance of returning players when forming teams.
